6 Activities to do Outside of the House During Cancer Treatment
Social distancing + affordable...yes!
Tending to the mental is just as important…
Let’s face it, staying in the house 24/7 has some severe side effects on the ole mental health.
There’s nothing worse than being sick inside the home and then feeling trapped by those same 4 walls.
I know I severely suffered from some PTSD walking back into the same space where I was sick for so long.
Here are 6 activities you can do outside of the house during cancer treatment to feel a little more like yourself:
Go to the movies - one of my favorite activities during treatment and in remission. You can enjoy a little treat, wear a mask and sit far away from people while being transported to a cinematic far away land. A win is a win 🙌🏽
Take a creative class - pottery/painting/cooking/etc, get that brain fired up and activate your inner child with some play! We all know we’re sick of coloring books so go color or cook IRL with a friend and laugh it up 🎨
Take a restorative yin class - no this is not your typical yoga class, this is dedicated more on stretching and relaxation. It’s best to take this at night before bed to ensure a restful sleep. Added bonus if it’s heated to help sweat out some of those toxins!
Picnic at the park/beach - throwing it back to covid days but there’s nothing better than getting fresh air after rotting on your couch for a week. Go people watch, bring snacks and catch up on all your friend’s gossip.
“Happy Hour” - because who doesn’t become 3x happier with discounted food and drinks. The cocktails don’t have to be alcoholic and you also don’t have to go at happy hour. Book a table outside or away from others while you eavesdrop and people watch. My dream!
Go to a local market or event - check Eventbrite to see what’s happening in your neighborhood and find something that tickles your fancy hehe I guarantee there is something you may find interesting and I guarantee better than staring at your 4 walls.
What are some of your favorite activities outside of the house during treatment?
