Cheers to...

Another week closer to your last day of treatment!

You’ve Been Here Before…

I’ve received countless messages asking me how i’m so positive about my Breast Cancer diagnosis and here is what I say to that…

These emotions we feel from cancer are unlike any other yes, but also so similar to all the other tough, disheartening, negative, heartbroken situations we have experienced in life. We’ve been let down when we had our hopes so high, we’ve received bad news when we thought it could only be good, we’ve been trapped by our bodies when struck by illness, we’ve shed one too many tears over the person who let us down.

Each of these negative situations we’ve experienced in our life has been the training for our cancer warriorship. The high’s and low’s of this shitty rollercoaster have been felt before but in much different capacities. The tumultuous back and forth of cancer emotions are just much more jarring and long-standing than other situations we have been in. But nonetheless, we have been here before.

And look where you’re standing. On two feet out of the situation of the past that you never thought would end.

And pretty soon, you once again will be out of this situation looking back upon this experience with battle wounds but with your head held high knowing you beat this war. Don’t let the emotions of this temporary situation defeat you, because you my friend, are so much stronger than this. Anytime you have a bad day, remind yourself that you have been here before and you will beat this once more.

You’ve got this.

SUMMER OF I AM LOVE RECAP

If you missed the beautiful self-love course with ACE last night, there will be many more opportunities for events coming up.

Last night, Ace taught us:

  • We must pour into ourselves before we can give effortlessly to others.

  • Write yourself a love letter. You deserve it.

  • Who is in your love team? Write a list of people who you can rely on for anything and call upon them when needed.

  • What does love truly mean to you? Love is not something we must search outside of ourselves for, we must find it within ourselves first to truly encompass all that love really is.

If you are interested in coaching with ACE, you can email her at [email protected] or DM her @aceyogala

🍋PRODUCT OF THE WEEK🍋

Scopolamine (Transderm)

If you are dealing with major nausea/vomiting, your doctor can prescribe you scopoamine transderm patches to wear behind your ears. These are similar to motion sickness patches but can be used in conjunction with anti-nausea meds to improve efficacy.

💪🏽WELLNESS TIP OF THE WEEK💪🏽

Add Frozen Veggies to Smoothies

During treatment, getting an adequate amount of nutrients can be super tough - ESP with a lack of appetite/nausea. If you are a smoothie gal (which I was during chemo), adding in neutral tasting frozen vegetables such as spinach and cauliflower can help add in the micronutrients you may be missing, without the taste.
