🤫 We’ve been working hard on the back end for the last few months and next week we will be (re) launching something fab…

Let’s just say…things may be looking a little different around here.

Yep, we’re rebranding 🎉 

What started as a way to connect with my engaged audience through support calls in 2023 is continuing to grow into a full business. So, I’m working backwards to get the look and feel of Cancer Baddies to match our ethos.

This community is filled with women of all backgrounds, cancers, ages, and demographics but we all have something in common. We’re pretty bada$$.

Just because we fell into the same club doesn’t mean we have to fall over and die. We’re resilient, inspiring, determined to never give up, and look fabulous doing it. We show up bald, scarred, a little lopsided, exhausted, but always authentic. At the core of this community we are real, authentic, vibrant individuals all connecting over a common cause. Cancer.

The rebrand will represent all things Baddie. Bold, imperfect, vibrant, unapologetic, fun, divalicious, and youthful!

As a way to celebrate the rebrand and also October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are launching a series called, 23 Days of Awareness. All month long, Monday through Friday, we will be sharing educational content, tips, Cancer Baddies community stories, and early prevention tools around Breast Cancer. We want to stay away from the pink-washing and focus on real, meaningful and beneficial content.

I mean, the number of women being diagnosed daily is kinda scary.

This series will also be a way to showcase our new branding online (and of course) this newsletter!

Make sure to follow us online (@cancerbaddies) and engage with our posts, share to your stories and send to people who may need support! We want to continue to grow this community and help as many people as possible so we need your support!

We are also looking for members of this community who are interested in sharing their story online and want to engage in fun social content in the coming months! You never know who you can help by sharing. If that’s you, please email me and say that you are interested!

Lastly ——

We want to get you involved more! We are looking for members around the country who are interested in hosting and attending local meetups. A lot of our events have been heavily focused on Los Angeles and we want to get everyone else connected.

☎️ Monthly Support Call Recap + Reminder!

We had our monthly call this past Wednesday, if you weren’t able to attend, you were missed! We got real on survivorship and realized that people quickly stop checking up on your once treatment is done. Although we look fine, underneath the surface we feel like nothing is right. We just wish people knew how much we are struggling sometimes and need those cheeky little check-ins. Sometimes they just feel nice, right?

Our friend, Michelle, is starting a new treatment hosted by Sloan Kettering called, Meaning Centered Psychotherapy. Meaning-centered psychotherapy (MCP) is a manualized brief, structured psychotherapeutic intervention to help patients suffering with loss of meaning around illness. It is designed to help diminish feelings of despair that can be associated with cancer by helping patients focus on the importance of creating, reconnecting with, experiencing, and sustaining meaning in the face of illness.

Our next call is Wed October 29 at 5:30pm PST/8:30pm EST. No matter where you are on your cancer journey, we would love to have you on the call. Whether you’re just starting treatment or have been in survivorship for a while, it is so beneficial. Survivors help the new people and we also get a chance to connect with women around the world.

 🌀 FREE REIKI (LA-ONLY) 🌀

My massage therapist is a master reiki teacher and the most beautiful Brazilian woman. She is offering a free reiki session to Cancer Baddies in the LA area. She can support groups of 3 at a time, and will also be doing some hands on healing based on individual needs. Depending on your need, she is open to providing continued sessions at no-cost for those who need it.
