Why Letting People Know You're Not OK is Important

Dying for Sex Thoughts, My Dr. Phil Appearance, Upcoming Events!!!

Being honest about your hard days is healing, not weakness

One of the sneakiest mental mind games of cancer is the pressure to perform strength- to keep it together, to smile when you're falling apart, to say “I’m fine” when you’re anything but.

But here’s the truth: Letting people know you’re not okay is one of the bravest things you can do.

You don’t owe anyone a polished version of your pain. You don’t have to minimize your struggle to make others comfortable. In fact, opening up about the hard stuff, the grief, the anxiety, the mental exhaustion, invites connection. It makes room for the support you actually need. And it gives others permission to be real, too.

So if today feels heavy, say that. If you're emotionally drained, name it. If you're holding on by a thread, let someone know.

Because pretending you’re okay doesn’t protect you but sharing the truth might just heal you.

A recent conversation with a friend highlighted the immense loneliness that cancer causes.

Even with people surrounding you, often times it still feels like people don’t quite know how to show up in the ways you need.

If speaking your truth to your closest friends doesn’t create an avalanche of support, it’s time to reevaluate your inner circle.

Yes, cancer is so challenging to support someone through, but imagine being the one with cancer?

Sometimes, all we need is a listening ear and a body next to us saying, “I’ve got you.” Speak your truth and the people who love and support you the most will be there.

📺 DYING FOR SEX, Thoughts?

We recently posted what we learned from the new HULU show, “Dying for Sex,” starring Michelle Williams on IG. I absolutely am loving this show and see a lot of my own experiences on the big screen (which, THANK GOD I’M NOT ALONE)!

This show is finally starting a major conversation around the reality of what it looks like to be a cancer patient and the very real struggles of living and dying.

From tough conversations with doctors, to wanting to live a “normal life” to the real struggles of what caregivers go through tending to a loved one - the writers of this show beautifully encapsulated so many cancer experiences at once.

What are your thoughts??

👀 SPEAKING OF TV…I was on the Dr. Phil Show!!!

I am so honored to have been a recent guest on the Dr. Phil Show to talk about my experience with cancer fatigue and using Encer supplements. WHAT?!

You all have heard me rant and rave about how much Encer helped me during treatment, so they asked me to join them on a few media appearances.

I truly only talk about products I love and support and this is definitely one of them. When I was going through chemo, this helped my fatigue immensely and helped subside my nausea and vomiting for the last 4 rounds of Kadcyla.

This is your reminder to keep sharing your story because you never know where you will end up 💚

🌀 GROUNDING PRACTICE OF THE WEEK 🌀

The 5-4-3-2-1 Method

✨ Try this:

5 things you can see

4 things you can touch

3 things you can hear

2 things you can smell

1 thing you can taste

Take a few deep breaths as you go through each one. You can do this anywhere - in bed, outside, or even during treatment. It’s a quick, calming reset that brings your body and mind back into now.
