Is October the Breast Cancer Super Bowl? đź’•

How we feel after our rebrand and 23 Days of Awareness launch in the same week

This is for my Breast Cancer Baddies…if this isn’t you, just keep scrolling…wait jk come back!

We know October can feel very overwhelming, trust us, it’s only October 3rd (“What day is today? It’s October 3rd.” *IYKYK*), and it’s already a lotttt of breast cancer content.

The beauty of this month is that there are a lot of good intentions and education behind Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a time to be aware of who is using this time for good and who is strictly monetizing the moment. Follow the accounts who are raising funds for great causes (metastatic research, organizations that directly support patients and survivors) and unfollow the accounts that slap a pink ribbon on a product as a way to show their “support.”

Truthfully, pink ribbons send a shiver down my spine. For all of my fellow patients and survivors, I don’t know about you, but even pink is hard to digest sometimes. We truly lived the experience, why do we need to wear everything that also represents it? I don’t know, maybe that’s just me 🤷🏽‍♀️

Anyways — in this community we keep it real and we’re sharing everything through our social series, 23 Days of Awareness. No BS. No pinkwashing. Just real education, real stories and real prevention tips.

There is truly an epidemic of young women being diagnosed, so education is key. Doing my breast checks saved my life and prevented the cancer from spreading more. We want to help save as many lives as possible while also giving people a safe place to land if they are diagnosed.

We recommend you to keep sharing your story with as many people as possible. You never know who you can help.

We would love if you could help support our series by sharing to your pages all month long! Make sure to follow us on Instagram (@cancerbaddies) and simply engage with our posts! Like, comment, and repost anything you feel resonates with you or could help someone else. Maybe even get crazy and tag a friend? IDK! Your support means the world to us.

Modicum Compassionate Care Line (Made for Cancer Patients)

This plant-based line is devoted to helping relieve some common side effects from cancer treatment. Modicum created the line after our founder, Monica Behan, supported her husband while he underwent radiation. She was surprised when she had a difficult time finding a safe and effective, plant-based skincare product for her husband to use to address some of the side effects of treatment. The first iterations of the C-Line were made for Eric, then shared with family and friends and are now available for those in need.
